Stalwart Edge was created in 2024 by James Rush as a way to share his music, but James has not always been a musician, singer or a songwriter/composer. He has been inspired by his close friends and family.
He pursued his passion for music after pursuing his passion for public service for nearly three decades. He took his long-time love of music to a different place. As a youngster, he and his siblings would hold down the sustain peddles while dad tickled the ivories. Music was always present in his life. In his teenage years he was on the bass. Later in life he picked up the acoustic guitar, thanks to a special group of people in his life. With an appreciation for all music, James is especially inspired by rock and roll. He began experimenting with writing lyrics and music of his own. Over the course of some years, he composed several songs. “Selling Hell” was one of his first, the lyrics were co-written by Scott Pletzer. Proudly it is his first release on his debut album “Selling Hell”. The second release on the album is "Drew the Light". The inspiration for the lyrics has vast emotional avenues.
James sang and played all the instruments throughout the recording process and came to realize that composing and producing his musical artwork is fun, fulfilling and therapeutic.
His hope is that those same feelings will transcend to all who would give it a listen.
